Why is it that Idlewild remind me of R.E.M? My guess is it’s in the lyrics and vocals. This song reminds me of Document era R.E.M why? I dunno.

Tapes N’ Tapes can only be described as a B52′s/Violent Femmes bangfest. They’re actually god damn catchy, enjoyable and tasty. This song is two and a half minutes of gold. Sample lyric: “I’ve been a better lover with your mother”. Seriously, download it.
The Foxboro Hot Tubs – Ruby Room
It’s Green Day in disguise, but you already knew that. It also sounds a hell of a lot better than Green Day too. This song should remind me of slags, slappers, overpriced beer… Then again i’m pretty sure you have no idea what i’m on about..unless you also live in Perth. This song is a massive tip of the hat to garage rock.

I can’t tell you how many times i have laughed at this song over the years. It’s kinda an in-joke between friends.

Recent rock n’ roll hall of fame inductee, Mr Leonard Cohen. I wanna drink beer in Munich with a big breasted fraulein on my lap…whilst reading the bible, no i’m not going to explain.

I like it, please don’t tease me. Honestly, he can sing. The guitar solo is high class.
Liam Finn – Better To Be (and) Second Chance
Like a pure bred greyhound, except a man. This is Neil Finns (Crowded House/Split Enz) son. Add to that his touring partner EJ Barnes (Daughter to Jimmy Barnes) and you end up with the goldest of gold. Below is a video of the two when they recently played on the late show with David Letterman. It’s good way to end this post.
